What is M&E Week?
An event celebrated annually every third week of June by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 144, series of 2011. The 1st National M&E Conference, to be held during the 2022 M&E Week celebration, provides a platform for researchers, scientists, and engineers from the industry, government research institutes, and academe to present and discuss the recent development and progress made in the following fields:
As part of the celebration of the 2022 M&E Week, the DOST-Metals Industry Research and Development Center will hold the 1st National M&E Conference, an avenue for the presentation and discussion of recent development and progress made in the following fields:
• Metalworking (machining, cutting, joining)
• Metal casting
• Metal forming (rolling, forging, bending, extrusion)
• Heat Treatment
• Surface Engineering
• Additive Manufacturing
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Machine Development for Agricultural, Industrial, Transport, Health and Defense applications
• Metal Degradation and Failure Analysis
• Metal Behavior and Characterization
• Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing Systems
• Process Automation (Smart and Green Agricultural)
• Iron and Steelmaking technologies
• Manufacture of non-ferrous metals and alloys
• Emerging Technologies in Metals and Engineering
• Trends in the Metals and Engineering Industry
We are calling on all researchers, scientists, and engineers from the industry, public and private research institutes, and the academe to be part of the 1st National M&E Conference.
Dates to remember:
May 20, 2022 - deadline for submission of the Abstract (250 words)
May 27, 2022 - deadline for submission of a full paper of accepted entries
June 15, 2022 - presentation of the research during the 1st National M&E Conference

Two separate masses and blessing ceremonies will be held for the MTSC in Cavite and the AMCen Annex in Bicutan

Technical webinars will be offered for free to enhance the public’s knowledge and level of understanding of metalworking-related technologies. There are webiserye/s to cover the scope of the main topic. This is open to metals, engineering and allied industries, individuals and academe.

This launching ceremony is a means to announce to the potential clients of the MTSC that building construction is already completed; this is also an opportunity to market the services of the MTSC in partnership with other MTSC project proponents: KOAMI, PEZA, PDMA, DTI.

This is the 1st National M&E Week Conference for the presentation of technical papers related to M&E; These papers will be published in the Philippine Metals

Guests are the five MEIC – SUC Presidents and Focal Persons, Regional Directors of the DOST, Presidents of industry associations, other stakeholders to present and discuss current partnerships, present and projected accomplishments, future potential collaborations that may be benchmarked by key personalities in the metals industry in other regions nationwide.
